Why a solid multi-core CPU matters for transparent avatars:

AskAvatar supports high-fidelity transparent video reactions and animations. Because standard consumer graphics cards only hardware-decode opaque video, videos with transparent alpha channels (WebM/VP9) are rasterized directly by your processor.

Single-PC vs. Dual-PC Streaming

If you are running heavy AAA games, OBS Studio, and AskAvatar on a single computer, an NVIDIA RTX graphics card (with at least 6 GB–8 GB VRAM) is strongly recommended so the local AI runs entirely inside GPU memory without taking CPU cycles away from your game.

Initial Release
AskAvatar is an AI-powered streaming companion designed to bring customizable mascots to life. It generates context-aware, reactive responses to stream events, encouraging chat interaction and giving streamers a unique, interactive prop.

Core Features

13 Pre-Built Avatar Profiles: Ready to use out of the box.
Reactive Animation System: Avatars utilize a 4-layer PNG system (background, closed mouth, open mouth, wide-open mouth). The software dynamically switches between these layers and applies bounce animations synced to the generated audio waveform to simulate speech.
Full Customizability: Users can swap all four image layers and completely customize the avatar's core personality instructions.
AI Voices: Includes 13 royalty-free English voices powered by Piper AI, with instructions for installing additional languages.
Animations: Various enter and exit animations for the avatar.

Integrations & Modes

Stream API Support: Twitch and YouTube events are relayed to the avatar via Streamlabs and StreamElements API socket keys.
VTuber Mode: A toggleable override that pauses AI event reactions and allows the avatar to function as a standard reactive PNG VTuber driven by microphone volume.

The Stage: A complete overhaul of the overlay system. Users can now position multiple event triggers and the default avatar at various scales and locations across a dedicated, auto-scaling canvas. Video Layers: Added foreground and background video support with controls for volume, delay, and continuous looping.
Vibe Checker: Links Twitch/TikTok chat to the AI, feeding it the last 20 messages for context when formulating responses. Includes a username blocklist to filter out bot announcements or specific users.

No Event Info Mode: Skips the username and event type announcement, jumping straight to the AI response.
No Riff Mode: Skips the AI response generation, allowing the avatar to simply read the event info.
Persona Override (Sub-Avatars): Temporarily swaps the avatar's personality during specific Event Triggers, allowing for multiple character personas within a single profile.
Video Only Mode: Triggers a video overlay without generating an AI response.
Simultaneous & Randomized Videos: Event Triggers can now select a random video from a designated pool, or play multiple triggered videos simultaneously (e.g., dropping dozens of feather animations during a mass raid).
Advanced Overrides: Customize voice, pitch, rate, reactivity, bounce, response length, temperament, and enter/exit animations on a per-trigger basis.

Voice & LLM Expansions

In-App Voice Management: Browse, download, and auto-install 15+ English AI voices directly within AskAvatar, alongside easy access to 45+ HuggingFace language packs.
Third-Party API Support (Beta): First iteration of support for ElevenLabs and OpenAI TTS (requires user subscription).
Third-Party LLM Support (Beta): Option to route AI responses through OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), or Gemini instead of Ollama.
Updated default AI model with backend instructions for optimized Ollama downloading.

System Controls & UI

1-Click Installation: Ollama AI is now packaged within the initial installer, making AskAvatar a seamless 1-click install program.
AI Model Manager: Added an Ollama AI model selection and download window, allowing users to select from a list of AI models to use for their avatar personality, with an option to add custom AI models.
Kokoro TTS Engine: A second, higher-quality Text-To-Speech engine has been added in addition to Piper. Kokoro adds 28 additional English AI voices recorded at a studio level, as well as additional international voices.
Browser Source Support: Users can now have The Stage overlay displayed within OBS via a Browser Source instead of a second window, increasing performance.
UI Localization: Added UI language change options for Spanish, German, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, French, Korean, and Chinese.

Bug Fixes

Profile Refresh fixed; Import and Export functions corrected to include additions to event triggers and the stage overlays.
Resizing of event trigger transparent video assets to 1080p and 720p to increase performance at no loss to image quality.

Future Development Goals

Open Vibe Checker: Consider an "Open Vibe Checker" mode allowing the avatar to autonomously chime in and react of its own choice based on what is being said in chat, rather than waiting exclusively for tip alerts or subscriber events. This would be especially helpful for newer streamers looking to fill dead air and maintain natural, lively banter.
The Stage Updates: Add portrait mode support and lock lines/guides to The Stage for easier canvas alignment and vertical streaming setups.
Website Newsletter: Set up a newsletter feature on the website to notify subscribers when new releases of AskAvatar, official avatar packs, or community-submitted assets become available.
Discord Integration: Enable authorized Discord users to trigger avatar speech on stream without requiring a tip transaction. This allows moderators to speak directly with chat, make manual announcements, and entertain viewers while the streamer is away—all without needing access to the streamer's PC.
Tutorial Hover Cards: Add skippable introductory tutorial hover cards guiding users through the interface the first time the app is launched.
Expand Kick Integration: Upgrade to full auth key support, allowing Kick to trigger for new follows and providing a more robust, stable connection.
Expand UI Languages: Broaden the list of supported UI languages across the application.
AskAvatar Adult Updates: Bring AskAvatar Adult fully up to date with all the new features and improvements from the standard version.
Developer Voice Clone: Create and include my own voice as an AI option.
AI Group Conversations: Build the backend logic to link several Sub-Avatar Event Triggers together (e.g., assigning triggers to specific "Channels"). This would allow multiple avatars to appear on screen and have an interactive, multi-part conversation based on a single tip or event, passing the context back and forth.

Yukiko: Transparent animated firefly overlays for follows/subs.

Nought: A mini Nought/Nexus Construct zooming around the screen perimeter collecting coins for new followers.
Saber (Band Expansion): Adding "Ripple" (Red-Eyed Tree Frog lead singer) and "Zoowy" (Humanoid Zebra drummer) to the default list, with plans to add a female bassist.
Azura: Dynamic exercise animations where the loop count is tied to the tip amount (e.g., a 100-bit tip triggers 10 pull-up loops).

Below, you'll find various template files I've used to create the event trigger animations seen in the default avatar profiles.

For example, using the template for Lycan's TCG Card Opening animation, you can create your own TCG cards, hire an artist to design cards based on your most generous tippers, or hold tip goals for viewers to design their own and become a permanent part of your stream alerts!

1. Introduction
Welcome to AskAvatar ("we", "us", "our"). By purchasing, downloading, or using the AskAvatar software application, our website (askavatar.web.app), or associated services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the AskAvatar software for personal and commercial streaming purposes on platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, TikTok Live, Kick, and Chaturbate (for AskAvatar Adult), subject to the terms of this agreement.

3. Restrictions
You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the software. You may not copy, decompile, reverse engineer, or disassemble the software.

4. Payments, Licensing & Refunds
All sales are final. As this is a digital software product, we do not offer refunds once software access or download keys have been issued. Please use the "Info" section of our website to review all features before purchasing. Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe; we never store your payment card details on our servers.

5. Use of AI
The AI responses are generated dynamically by third-party local and cloud models. While built-in safety controls are provided, AskAvatar is not responsible for any offensive or incorrect responses generated. You, the streamer, maintain operational responsibility for all content broadcast on your stream.

6. Termination
This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any term(s) of this license.

7. Avatar Submissions
By submitting images or content to our "Avatar Gallery" via our contact form or other means, you grant AskAvatar a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display your content in connection with the gallery. You warrant that you have the necessary rights to grant this license.

8. Privacy Policy & Google API User Data
We only collect your email address and name via Google Sign-in strictly to authenticate your account and manage your software access and downloads. In compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, your Google data is never sold, leased, or used for advertising or marketing. Browser local storage is used solely to maintain login sessions and remember age verification preferences.

9. Data Retention & Deletion Rights
You can request permanent deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us at AskAvatarSupport@gmail.com. Stored account data will be permanently removed from our databases within 30 days of request.

Welcome!

AskAvatar Adult 4.0 is a specialised version of the standard AskAvatar 4.0 program. This version has been built exclusively for models working on adult cam platforms.

Chaturbate support is available now, and hopefully more coming soon.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the Adult version does not allow access to the streaming platforms used by the Standard version. This is due to fundamental aspects of the app needing to be changed in order for it to work with Chaturbate and NSFW themes.
